A very small piece of history why the saddles got the name WOW ™ and how the saddle came about …
Flair system
First Thought Equine Ltd is a UK based company that introduced the Flair system in 1996. The Flair system is the air-filled compartments that can be inserted into the saddle panels instead of the traditional wool.
In 2 years, it was fitted in new and old saddles by saddlers and saddle manufacturers in 15 countries.
Korrector
The second product to be launched was Korrector in 2001. Originally developed into Flair western saddles, it proved so good at correcting fit issues in English saddles that it is still used today.
WOW
While working with manufacturers and saddlers it became clear that there was room for dramatic improvement for the traditional English saddle. The first WOW saddle was produced which quickly gained a reputation for enhancing the horse’s performance, earning them the name WOW as this was the first word used by riders to test the saddle.
WOW has been independently tested in at least three continents and has outperformed its competitors in pressure and gait analysis.
Every product that First Thought Equine develops benefits the health and well-being of the horse, but above all also improves the performance of the ridden horse.
Kent, England
All products are manufactured in Kent, England. The factory is located in a valley in the heart of the Kent countryside, just outside the historic town of Canterbury, surrounded by forestry. The company has its own range of horses for testing and improving the products, as well as for training with saddlers and the public.
Everything that is made is computer-designed and machine-cut for accuracy and repeatability.
Unique
Each part of the saddle is made in-house to their own designs and they also offer you the opportunity to make your own saddle completely unique by giving you the freedom to choose colours and finishes from the leather they use for the individual parts that combine your saddle.
Your WOW saddle is not only totally changeable as your horse progresses during training, but also totally unique to you and the market!
